  • ABSTRACT

  • Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, often known as the ‘Poet of Brahmaputra’, was Assam's biggest cultural figure and a giant in the cultural arena. He remained an unappreciated hero despite his multi-faceted talent as a vocalist, music director, poet, filmmaker, and lyricist. Many of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika's songs were written by him, and many of them are about love, hope, and humanism. Hazarika's songs have had an extraordinary impact on Assam's cultural fabric. This paper mainly focuses on the stylistic analysis of romanticism in some of Hazarika's selected songs and lyrics, linguistically, on "riverscapes," "seasons," and "love". The study will also demonstrate Hazarika's new language and vocabularies of Romantic sensitivities, as well as the style evident in his lyrics. This topic appealed to me because there are many aspects of Bhupen Hazarika's lyrical poetry and songs that have yet to be studied stylistically.

  • Key words: ‘Poet of Brahmaputra’, vocalist, humanism, romanticism, stylistically.
