  • ABSTRACT

  • Nano clay synthesis and their hybrid composite preparation with poly- mers are highly demanding and hot areas in research due to their explor- ing new behaviour and functionalities beyond conventional polymers. Here in this paper, we are synthesizing nano vermiculites by exfoliation method using treatment with sodium and lithium salts. The nano range starts with 47-138 nm. The nano vermiculites then mixed with two poly- mers viz. PMMA and alginate by pressure gradient method. The bilayer membrane thus prepared is characterized with different spectroscopic technique such as SEM and XPS. Further application of the composite is in progress.
