  • ABSTRACT

  • The tea garden labourers in Assam who are brought by Britishers from different states have been facing various socio-economic issues since the colonial rule in India. The researcher observes thatlow wages, poor housing, absence of quality education, inadequate health facilities and lack of other avenues compel them to live a most vulnerable life style. Hence, through this research paper, the researcher tries to narrate the general background of this community, their deplorable conditions and also makes a humble attempt to provide some remedial measures over it.
